Here I am talking to some tour goers about A Father's Hope. (I'm the one in black moving my hands around.)Never had so many people asked me questions like how do I get my characters, how long have I been writing, how do you find all these plots. Needless to say I felt very important and at last felt like a real author. Many took my flyers I made up with the new cover for Joshua's Faith. Hopefully they will visit my site like they said they would but either way it was a wonderful day. We had at least 80 people come through the Old Powder House Inn. Later my husband and I meant Cheryl Norman and her hubby and went out to eat. We ate at Harry's a well know restaurant in St. Augustine. We had our pictures taken with the other authors in the tour there.

This is the beautiful room I stayed in at the Old Powder House Inn. Not only did it possess beauty but also a ghostly experience. Nothing to fear it was a beautiful happening. So exciting that I had to capture what I experienced on paper. The next morning is when I found the white rose on the vanity table. I thought my husband put it there. He didn't and the door was double locked. Thus, The Captain's Rose was born. Later, that morning at breakfast Katie, the innkeeper asked me if I experinced anything. Of course I had to tell her and the house guest. I kept them spellbound. I'm not sure if they thought I was crazy or not but they all joined in on the talk.

After experience what I call my slide show vision that involved a carriage I had to take one of those rides. It was well worth it. Here you can see my husband and I outside one of the churches on the tour. Yes, my writer's tour was a wonderful memory one I plan on doing again next year. If you've never been to St. Augustine you need to put it on your list. And even better stay at the Old Powder House Inn and just maybe something special will happen to you.

Thought of the day. Half the joy of life is in little things taken on the run... ~Victor Cherbuliez~

Take A Peek At My New Cover!

Wanted to share with all of you the new cover for JOSHUA'S FAITH. Not to mention the lives lost and homes of all those in the areas that were hit. But in my heart I believe that these cities and towns will come back stronger than ever. We have all learned a valuable lesson. Since I will be part of the Romantic Inns & Writers Tour on October 2, 2005 we decided to visit The Powder House Inn. The outside of this turn-of-the-century Victorian Bed and Breakfast Inn gives you such a feel of times passed. It draws you in. From the moment I went up the steps until I stood inside the elegant looking parlor story ideas flowed through my mind.

Meeting Inn Keeper Katie Kalieta and later her husband, Kal was indeed a very special moment. My husband found the house very interesting. Katie entertained us with stories of a ghost that lives there. Not everyone feels her presents but I had a feeling I would be one. Since I will spend the night in his very special place I will let you know if she contacts me. But one thing I know for sure there is a story waiting to be told and I can't wait to get started with it. If your near St Augustine in October please stop by and hear the wonderful stories Katie has to tell.

Today's Thought: Many butterflies only live a few days... yet they never waste a moment. ~Tami~

WRITING THROUGH YOUR FEARS...

I believe that writing something down on the blank sheet of paper can be intimidating sometimes. What works for me is to just start writing. Doesn't matter what it is about when you first type away at the keys. Just let your imagnation flow. Sometimes it doesn't make any sense when you read it back but you can change that later on. But what you've done is put words on that scary blank piece of paper. And guess what it isn't blank anymore. If it is stuff that isn't even about what your writing it doesn't matter. You are writing! If you set a time each day. Say like 30 minutes and you can even set a timer on yourself you'll find you are developing a writing schedule for yourself. So when you sit down to write your novel it will be so much easier and before you know it you will be writing the end.

Life is sometimes like that. Just moving forward when something bad is going on is hard. But I've learned that you must get by the fear and always, always keep moving forward towards the good days which will always shine through. But it must be in God's time not ours.

Thought for the day: NOT KNOWING WHEN THE DAWN WILL COME, I OPEN EVERY DOOR... ~Emily Dickenson~

...Gabe loses his leg to war and his heart to the wrong woman...

"Romantic Inns & Writers Tour"

The St. Augustine Historic Inns and The First Coast Romance Writers Association are hosting a Sunday afternoon tour of Inns and published romance writers on October 2, 2005 from 2:00pm-5:00pm.

Would love to have you come by and see these wonderful Inns and get a glimpse into the romantic past.
